JSCCA Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Conference and Dinner
The Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants (JSCCA) recently marked its 50th anniversary with a prestigious two-day conference and dinner event. Held at Royal Yacht Hotel, the celebration brought together a mix of members, industry leaders, and notable figures from the financial world. The 2-day conference featured expert-led sessions covering a wide range of topics, including the evolving role of accountants in a digital age, regulatory updates, and the crypto solutions sitting with traditional updates on UK GAAP and IFRS.
For the first time the JSCCA included a free session to all our members on Leadership and Resilience that was delivered by Ben Owen, ex-British Intelligence and presenter of the hit TV show The Hunted. Ben delivered an insight to his career covering a multitude of events that have led him to providing some guidance on how to be more resilient both within the workplace and to life in general.
Following the conference, a gala dinner of over 250 people was held during which the society’s achievements were honored and the current JSCCA President, David Moehle, acknowledging all Past President's for their contributions to the Society over the past 50 years.
Individuals were also honoured with students receiving the annual prizes for oustanding academic achievements and these were as folows:-
Aimee O'Connor - ACCA
Anna Strickland - ICAEW
Megan Auld - ICAS
The 2024 President's Award for Inspiring Leadership was awarded to Karen Morris.
The Society is also pleased to announce that following the raffle held at the gala dinner and at the recent Past President's dinner a total of £3,500 will be donated to Healing Waves which is the President's chosen charity for 2024.
The 50th anniversary was a powerful reminder of JSCCA’s commitment to professionalism, education, and community within the accounting profession, setting a positive tone for the years to come.
