The training sub-committee focuses on promoting accountancy as a rewarding career to locally resident students, across a broad range of businesses.
It represents the JSCCA at local careers events and works with local schools to inform students of the career paths a professional accountancy qualification supports.
In addition to promotional activities, the sub-committee support training in three ways:
It works with the technical sub-committee to deliver CPD opportunities covering technical updates on a wide range of relevant topics including changes to legislation, tax and auditing standards. This currently takes the form of monthly afternoonseminars run in conjunction with BPP and a two dayAnnual Conference, which over the course of 2 days, This event is held each year in October.
The committee are involved with other events such as the ICAEW Roadshows, and liaise with other professional accountancy bodies on the provision of relevant training for members.
It also promotes and administrates the student bursary scheme and helps student members supporting them with their training related queries.
